Bridge Buddies After School Program

Goal
The goal of Bridge Buddies is to provide a safe and healthy environment for children while extending the Bridge School experience into an informal setting after school. Stimulating and fun activities are provided while allowing lots of time for play and socializing. The Bridge Buddies program director is Renée Ursitti.

Snack
Children will need to have a snack packed separately from their schoolday snack and lunch to ensure it will not be eaten during the school day. This should be a "room temperature" snack as we do not have access to a refrigerator.

Schedule
Each day offers a variety of choice time, regular group activities, and special group activities. Each afternoon starts as a group with snack, then outside time. During inclement weather the gym will be used for physical activities. Following outside time will be kids' choice time offering art and crafts, quiet time for board games, reading, story time and other things, and indoor play. Some weeks will focus on special group projects. Each day ends with clean up time.

Other After School Activities
Bridge Buddy children can continue to participate in soccer, basketball, and any other opportunity offered during the year. They will return to Buddies after the other activity has finished.

Book Groups
Depending on the age of the children registered, Renée will continue to work with the Red Clover Book Award and the DCF Book Award programs as age and time allow.

Early Release Days and Vacations
Bridge Buddies does not run on early release days or during school vacations.

Pick Up
Pick up is 5 PM sharp. While we understand that unexpected issues/emergencies arise, a family's slot status may be reviewed if that family is consistently late for pick up.
