Bridge School is a Vermont state-approved independent K-6 elementary school. (Independent school categories are defined below, for comparison.)
Applications received by March 1st are considered first. After that, we consider applications as they arrive, if we still have openings. We will consider mid-year students if there is an opening.
2013-2014 school year tuition is $8,695.
Financial Aid
We have a scholarship program for those who have financial need and about a third of our students receive some aid. We are unable to offer full scholarships. You can download a financial aid application from the link at the top of this page.
Tuition Towns
Residents of towns without their own school can send their children to Bridge School and the town will cover all or most of the tuition. Towns in the region include: Buel's Gore, Chittenden, Goshen, Granville, Hancock, Mendon, and Pittsfield.

Approved Independent Schools Ninety-five approved independent schools operate in Vermont. They have varying educational philosophies and address a variety of student needs. Approved independent schools choose which grades they will serve and whether they will serve the general educational population only or the general and special educational population in one or more disability categories. Approved independent schools can receive tuition from public funds. Obtaining approved status requires a school to submit a written application and undergo an on-site approval visit and review of the school's organization, curriculum, facilities, staff qualifications, student health and safety, and financial qualifications. |
| Recognized Independent Schools Thirty-eight recognized independent schools operate in Vermont. Recognized independent schools file an annual enrollment notice through which the Commissioner of Education obtains information about the school's objectives, operating schedule, curriculum, assessment procedures and student demographics. Recognized independent schools may not receive tuition from public funds. | |
