Bridge School is an independent, state approved, not-for-profit, elementary school located in Middlebury, Vermont, in a former dairy barn. We have been in operation since 1980. Bridge School accepts up to 38 students.
Bridge School values respect for the individual within an environment of kindness and understanding as a group. We create this environment by offering mixed-age classes, academic options, and the arts. Students work with every teacher each day.
Bridge School is a staff-led school. We welcome and encourage parents to volunteer at the school in a variety of capacities from classroom assistants to sports coaches.
Facilities include a gym/theater, a cataloged library, a shop/greenhouse, six classrooms, and a computer lab. Outdoor spaces include a regulation size soccer field, a skating rink in the winter, a small stream and pond, and climbing, swinging, and sliding structures. There is a school-year-long after school program which runs till 5:30 daily. Additional programs in soccer and basketball are offered seasonally.
